Beat is an interactive sculpture that imitates the sounds of a heart beat.
A speaker emits the heart beat with a randomly changing frequency. The user interacts with two infrared distance sensors located on both sides of the robot. As he moves his hands closer or further from these sensors, the frequency of the sound waves produced by the speaker gradually modifies. The lights also flicker with the same rhythm of the beats.
The user can visually notice the change in the rhythm by observing the glitter placed on the speaker. Patterns and shapes are formed with the vibrations of the sound waves.
